Act 89	HB1827 HD2 SD1 CD1	DLIR; DOE; Health Care Workforce Development; Appropriation ($)	Appropriates funds to the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations and Department of Education to support health care workforce development programs, specifically the public high school health care workforce certificate program and glidepath program for certified nurse aides. Appropriates funds to renovate and equip certain public high school classrooms to be used for health care training. (CD1)
Act 95	SB63 SD2 HD3 CD2	Board of Nursing; Nurses; Registered Nurses; Practical Nurses; Temporary Permits; Licenses; Exceptions	Effective 1/1/2025, allows the Board of Nursing to issue temporary permits to out-of-state licensed registered nurses and practical nurses and nurses who hold a multistate license issued by another state, territory, or country, under certain circumstances. Beginning 7/1/2025, allows an out-of-state licensed practical nurse or registered nurse to apply for a temporary permit simultaneously with an application for a license to practice in the State. Excepts from license requirements nurses who are licensed in another state, territory, or country accompanying a patient from out-of-state for a period of less than two weeks and not employed or affiliated with a health care entity in the State. Takes effect 1/1/2025. (CD2)
House Resolution; House Concurrent Resolution	HR66/ HCR81	Advanced Practice Registered Nurses; Workers’ Compensation Fee Schedule; DLIR; Hawai’i Administrative Rules	Requesting the Director of Labor and Industrial Relations to Amend Title 12, Chapter 15, Hawai’i Administrative Rules, to clarify that compensation for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses under the state’s Workers’ Compensation law is distinct from compensation for Registered Nurses and shall be one hundred percent of the fees authorized under the Medicare fee schedule.
