Emerging Nurse Scientist Award – This award recognizes an individual who is in the early stages of their career as a nurse scientist and demonstrates exceptional promise in advancing nursing practice through their scientific work.
- Focus Area and Impact – Describe the nominee’s scientific focus area, key findings to date, and how their work addresses important issues in healthcare or nursing practice.
- Evidence of Dissemination – Provide examples of peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or other scholarly outputs that demonstrate the nominee’s commitment to sharing their work with the broader nursing and scientific community.
- Future Potential – Describe how the nominee demonstrates potential for long-term contributions to nursing science.
Exemplary Nurse Scientist Award – This award highlights a nurse whose enduring scientific work has produced measurable benefits to nursing practice, education, policy, or patient care. Recipients of this award demonstrate a sustained commitment to the advancement of the nursing profession through scientific excellence, leadership, and mentorship.
- Describe the nominee’s sustained contributions to nursing science. – Describe the nominee’s scientific focus area and notable findings. Provide examples of how the nominee’s scientific excellence has translated into meaningful impact on nursing practice, education, policy, or patient care.
- Describe how the nominee has demonstrated leadership in the field of nursing research. – Provide examples of the nominee’s leadership, especially in interdisciplinary collaborations or leading large-scale research initiatives.
- Describe how the nominee has mentored the next generation of nurse scientists. – Provide an example of a specific mentoring relationship the nominee has had with an aspiring nurse scientist.
Hawai’i Impact Award – This award highlights a nurse scientist whose work has had a significant local impact. They address the promotion of health and the transformation of healthcare with a focus on the unique cultural, demographic, or geographic characteristics of Hawaii and its people.
- Focus Area – Describe the nominee’s scientific focus area(s) and key findings to date.
- Local Impact – Describe how the nominee’s work addresses unique cultural, demographic, or geographic characteristics of Hawaii’s people.
- Partnerships – Describe any local community partnerships the nominee has forged while contributing to nursing science in Hawaii.
