Chief Nurse Executive, Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center

Dr. Kelly began her nursing career as an officer in the United States Army Nurse Corps holding the rank of Second Lieutenant to Captain.  She served in progressive leadership roles from charge nurse to nurse manager and had the privilege to serve as part of Operation Uphold Democracy with the United Nations Mission in Haiti.  After six successful years in the Army, she embarked upon a different path and worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.

After eight years, Dr. Kelly re-entered the nursing profession working as a charge nurse at HCA’s Las Colinas Medical Center in Irving, Texas.  She then worked for the Baylor Health Care System as manager of a 63 bed Level III NICU and ultimately the Director of Maternal Newborn and NICU Services.  Dr. Kelly rejoined HCA as the Assistant Vice President of Women’s and Children’s Services at the Medical Center of Lewisville, just north of Dallas. Dr. Kelly served as the Associate Chief Nursing Officer (CNO-Development Program) at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado and Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in Denver, Colorado, where she has served since August of 2015.

Dr. Kelly earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership from Texas Christian University.  She also holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix.  Dr. Kelly is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives.  She holds a Nurse Executive Advanced Certification and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Hawaii Association of Healthcare Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives and the Hawaii Association of Nurse Executives.

Outside of hospital, Dr. Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, thirteen and fifteen years old.  They enjoy working out at the gym lifting weights and anything that keeps them physically active.
